Asia's Most Beautiful Beach - Where Paradise Meets Reality
Wandoor Beach, located about 25-30 km southwest of Port Blair, is a scenic, peaceful beach known for its clear waters and white sands, and it serves as the primary gateway to the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. Visitors can access nearby islands like Jolly Buoy and Red Skin from the Wandoor Jetty, but swimming at Wandoor Beach itself is strictly prohibited due to the presence of saltwater crocodiles and underwater hazards. The beach offers stunning sunsets and a natural, rustic beauty, partly due to fallen tree trunks from the 2004 tsunami, and a Marine Interpretation Centre is located at the park entrance.
Fly to Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair. From there, take a ferry to Havelock Island (2-3 hours). The beach is 12km from Havelock jetty.
