The Fiery Wonder of Andamans - Overview
Barren Island, part of the North & Middle Andaman district, is located about 135 km northeast of Port Blair. It is the only active volcano in India and the only confirmed active volcano in South Asia, making it one of the most unique destinations in the region. The island is uninhabited by humans, with only occasional visits allowed for scientific, fishing, and tourism purposes.
