Cellular Jail Museum

Echoes of Freedom – Remembering India’s Struggle

Overview

The Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani, is one of the most important historical landmarks of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Built by the British in 1906, this massive colonial prison was used to exile Indian freedom fighters, subjecting them to solitary confinement and inhumane conditions.
