Echoes of Freedom – Remembering India’s Struggle
The Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani, is one of the most important historical landmarks of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Built by the British in 1906, this massive colonial prison was used to exile Indian freedom fighters, subjecting them to solitary confinement and inhumane conditions. Today, the Cellular Jail has been converted into a National Memorial and Museum, showcasing India’s painful past and the bravery of countless revolutionaries.
