North Bay Lighthouse

Guiding Lights Over the Coral Kingdom

Overview

The North Bay Lighthouse, located on North Bay Island (just off the coast of Port Blair), is one of the most iconic lighthouses in the Andaman Islands. The lighthouse is beautifully perched atop a hill, offering panoramic views of Port Blair, Ross Island (Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island), and the surrounding turquoise waters.
North Bay Island itself is famous for its coral reefs, glass-bottom boat rides, scuba diving, snorkeling, and sea walking. The lighthouse not only serves as a navigational aid but is also featured on the backside of the old ?20 Indian currency note, making it a historic and photographic landmark.
